Marlene was born on March 12, 1936 in Reserve, Montana to Paul and Leona Jacobsen. She graduated from High School in Medicine Lake, Montana. She worked and lived in New York as a young woman until 1961 when she returned to Reserve, MT. She married Dale Wivholm and they moved to Plentywood, MT for less than a year and then moved to Los Angeles. After 2 ½ years Dale and Marlene moved to Minnesota and adopted Dirk in 1967. They moved to Oakdale, Minnesota to raise their son and spend their lives together. Marlene was an avid sewer, and loved gardening, knitting, ice skating, rollerblading, and fencing. Marlene was the loving wife of Dale for 55 years; devoted mother of Dirk; proud grandma of Chris; sister of Don Jacobsen. Preceded in death by parents; siblings, Sylvia DeKaye, Arnie Jacobsen, Glen Jacobsen, and Eunice Lodahl. Time of Gathering to be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul. Interment Union Cemetery, Maplewood, MN.
