Shirley A. (Oliver) Reis, 82, of S. Dartmouth died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Home, New Bedford. She was wife of the late William Reis.
Born in Dartmouth, she was daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna (Corey) Oliver. She was a waitress for many years at Ashworth's Restaurant in Padanaram Village, South Dartmouth and was a longtime teachers assistant for the St. Mary's Church catechism program. Mrs. Reis was a life member of the VFW Post 9059 Dartmouth Auxiliary, where she served as treasurer for 24 years. She was a Communicant of St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth.
Survivors include 2 brothers: Jack J. Oliver of Dartmouth and Joseph J. Oliver and his wife Susan of Dartmouth; a sister: Mary Eldridge of FL; a god daughter: Jennifer A. Dutra; a close friend: Kirk A. Whiting; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Anne E. (Oliver) Dutra and Robert J. Oliver.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M.
Interment will be in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
