Dorothy M. (Cravinho) Sousa, age 92 of Lawrence passed away on May 21, 2017. Dorothy was born in Lawrence on December 24, 1924 to the late Mariano and Veronica (Perry) Cravinho. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1942. Dorothy worked for many years at ITT Semiconductors of Lawrence. She was a former communicant of Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary Parish of Lawrence and Saints Peter and Paul Church formerly of Lawrence. Dorothy enjoyed reading and going to the Methuen Senior Center, where she loved to sing with others. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and great grandsons.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Thomas G. Sousa. She was the devoted mother of Stephen T. Sousa and his wife Mary, Lori Sousa, and the late Thomas P. Sousa. Dorothy was the loving grandmother of Elizabeth Mitchell and her husband Gregory. She was the cherished great grandmother of Brady Mitchell and Hunter Mitchell. Dorothy was the dear sister of the late Lillian Sousa. Dorothy is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Parish-Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St. Lawrence. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
