Mrs Gloria Louise (Layne) Williams, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of William H Williams, passed away at her home, surrounded by loving family, on May 18, 2017. She was 57 years old.
Born on April 11, 1960 in Cambridge and moved to Medford as a little girl, she was the beloved daughter of James W. and Verlie M. (Paige) Layne of Florida. Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Medford High School and Fitchburg State College. She was employed as a Comprehensive Analyst for Dental Quest for many years. In her spare time, Gloria enjoyed playing cards and board games and being around her family and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her loving children; Alexandria P. Williams, William H. Williams Jr. and Stephanie E. Williams, all of Medford, siblings; James W. Layne Jr. of Rhode Island, Jeffrey D. And his wife Sammy Layne of Georgia and Judy Layne also of Georgia. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as many cherished friends.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the West Medford Baptist Church, 59 Boston Avenue, Medford on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Noon. Relatives and friends are most welcomed to attend. Visitation will be held in the church, prior to the service, 11 AM to Noon. Internment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Gloria's memory may be made to the West Medford Community Center, 111 Arlington St, Medford, MA 02155.
