Margaret E. (McGrath) Bruno of The Villages, FL, formerly of Medford, MA, and York, ME passed away at Leesburg Hospital after a sudden illness on Sunday, May 14. Born and raised in Malden, MA she was the daughter of the late Allen and Mildred (Ross) McGrath. Margaret married Domenic Grasso in 1968. They settled in Somerville, MA where she raised her three children before moving to York, ME where the family spent many summers. Margaret later married the love of her life Paul Bruno in 1989 and resided in Medford, MA where she worked as an office administrator at Tufts University. Margaret moved to The Villages in 2009. She enjoyed going to the pool with friends, playing mahjong and enjoying what The Villages life has to offer.
Margaret was loved by many, and is survived by daughters Lisa K. Grasso and husband Jerome O'Hare of Chelmsford, MA; Dawn M. Fernald and husband Ryan of Cape Neddick, ME; cousin Nancy George and husband Warren of The Villages, FL; granddaughter Josie O'Hare of Chelmsford, Goddaughter Janice LeBlanc and husband David of Everett, MA; nephew John Doucette; and her favorite grand-nieces Stephanie and Nicole LeBlanc and grand-nephew Jackie Doucette. Also survived by her loving step-children Stephen, David, Kristopher and Denise (Vivolo) Bruno. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul in 1999 and her beloved son, Domenic Jonathan in 2007. Margaret held the loss of both close to her heart. She was a gifted artist who loved to draw portraits. She was a big Disney fan, and loved being with family. She was a kind soul with a beautiful smile and will be missed by many.
A memorial service took place on Thursday, May 18, in Lady Lake, FL. Additional visiting hours will be held in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, MA on Thursday, May 25, from 9 - 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
