New Bedford – Elizabeth A. (White) Moran, 84, of Westport died Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the widow of Andrew J. Moran.
She was born in Westport, daughter of the late William C. and Amy M. (Cummings) White, and was a lifelong resident of Westport. A 1939 graduate of Westport High School and a 1943 graduate of Bridgewater State she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and also did post graduate work in 1970 at Bridgewater State and the former Southeastern Massachusetts University, Dartmouth.
Prior to her retirement she was a teacher for the Mattapoisett School System and most recently for the Westport School System, where she taught for many years. During her years teaching in Westport she became certified as a special education teacher and worked as a diagnostician.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Amy M. Moran of Belchertown, MA and Ann E. Moran of Westport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alice W. Manchester.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, Friday at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 4 – 6 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
