Nicolaca Vieira Tavares (78) of Brockton died May 16th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of Avelino Afonso.
She was born in Sao Lourenco Dos Orgaos, Santa Cruz, Cabo Verde. Nicolaca was a homemaker. She loved to cook, clean and was known to be a very caring and loving person.
In addition to her husband she is survived by 5 sons, Joao, Antonio, Jose, Lourenco and George Afonso, 4 daughters, Maria Luisa Mendonca, Rosa Afonso Lopes, Filomena Afonso and Maria Nascimento Pires, 29 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins.
Burial will take place next week in Sao Lourenco Dos Orgaos, Santa Cruz, Cabo Verde. Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton is assisting family with travel arrangements.
