In Taunton, Irving "Lindy" J. Leonard, May 14, 2017, Passed away in Taunton Nursing Home while surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80. Lindy is survived by his beloved wife Joan (Cleary) Leonard of Taunton. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Charles and Irene (Baptiste) Leonard. Lindy had resided all his life in Taunton. He was employed at Checon Corporation in Attleboro as a machinist. He was a member of the Elk’s, Lions Club and he enjoyed Camping, traveling, working in his yard and above all he cherished his time with family. In addition to his wife, Irving is survived by his children, Barry Leonard and his wife Annie of Seekonk, Cindy Carpenter and her husband Al of Somerset, Deborah Carver and her husband Tracy of Dighton and Jo Ann Cummings and her husband Brad of Berkley. He also leaves his grandchildren Dustin and Chase Leonard, Christopher, Jessica and Allen Carpenter, Makayla and Emily Cummings and Marie and Lyndon Carver, He also leaves seven great grandchildren. Irving leaves his sister Ruth Ponte of Taunton and the late bothers Charles and George Leonard. Funeral home visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 17th from 5-8 pm. in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. Funeral services are private at the request of the family. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
