WORCESTER / ORMOND BEACH, FL – Marilyn Jean Welch, 64, peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2017 in her home in Florida.
She was born in Worcester, and was raised and educated in Shrewsbury.
Marilyn worked as a barber stylist for many years, including in her own business in Hubbardston as well as for Hairsmyth in Worcester, before relocating to Florida. She was a kind-hearted woman, and one of great faith. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, eating lobster, writing poetry, but mostly cherished the time with her family, and friends.
Marilyn will be lovingly missed by her two children, George St. Denis of Colorado and Kelly St. Denis of Worcester; her brother, Charles Welch of Wisconsin; her father, Charles Whalen of California: as well as her four grandchildren, Jarred, Gino, Ryan, Selena, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by son, Duane St. Denis in 2008, as well as her mother, Jean (Berggren) and father, Edward Welch and her sisters, Bonnie Freeman, Vickie and Ann Marie Welch.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marilyn’s family on Saturday, May 20, from 4-6 p.m. at the LINDQUIST-LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street, Worcester. A service in celebration of Marilyn’s life will follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Marie Phillips School, The Learning Center for the Deaf, 848 Central St. Framingham, MA 01701
