Dr. James L. Galvin MD died peacefully at home Thursday May 11, 2017. He was 85 years old. Dr. Galvin was a lifelong resident of Canton and a dedicated physician of Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He spent his life serving the residents of Canton, Norwood, and the surrounding communities for over 49 years. Dr. Galvin was the devoted husband of the late Patricia T. Galvin (Moylan). Loving father of Maryanne Burakoff of Stoughton and FL., Nora C. Galvin of Canton, Kathleen E. Lennon and her husband Thomas of Canton, James L. Galvin BPD and his wife Rosanna of Canton, Maura P. Hershman and her husband Craig of Walpole, Daniel J. Galvin and his wife Maryellen of Plainville, and Liam G. Galvin of Canton. Brother of the late John Galvin, Michael Galvin, and Mary Galvin. Brother-in-law of Kathleen Moylan of Brockton, Mary Moylan of Duxbury, Patricia Galvin of Stoughton and Jean Galvin of Canton. Proud grandfather of Joseph and Alex Burakoff, T.J., Mary, Meghan, and Matthew Lennon, Danny, Owen, Conor, and Mia Galvin, and Julianna Strahan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman St., Canton, Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday May 17, 2017 in St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St., Canton at 10 AM. Interment at St. Mary’s cemetery, Canton.
