Obituary

Command Sergeant Major Paul D. Rosado, U.S. Army (RET), age 84, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Memorial Health in Savannah.

Funeral services will be held 6 PM, Sunday, May 14, 2017 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Terry Cole officiating. A flag presentation will be given by the Fitzgerald High School JROTC under the direction of 1SG Kenneth Rosier. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the Main Post Cemetery on Fort Benning. The family will receive friends following the service until 9 PM at the funeral home on Sunday.

CSM Rosado was born January 26, 1933, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, to the late Ines Rosado and the late Vicenta Delgado Castro Rosado. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration from the University of Hawaii. CSM served his country honorably in the United States Army for 31 years. He was highly decorated, earning the Soldier’s Medal for Heroism as well as the Bronze Star. He trained military personnel worldwide. Following his retirement, he moved to Fitzgerald where he started the JROTC program at Fitzgerald High School. Much success has come to this program through the years and the unit continues to excel. He led this program as an educator for 20 years. He was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church and was currently attending Fitzgerald Full Gospel Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dulce Vinas Rosado of Fitzgerald; his children: Melvin Rosado of Columbus, Aldo Rosado and his fiancé Angie Williams of Columbus, Sharon Cannard of Atlanta, and Stephanie Molina of Savannah; grandchildren: John, Matthew, Mary, and Reina Cannard and Ramon Rosado; great-grandchildren: Evan Cannard, Bailey Cannard, Julian Rosado, Tiara Cannard, Joe Cannard, Maddox Rosado, and Julian Rosado. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ana Leonor Rosado.
