Charlotte (Crowell) Almeida, 94, of Dartmouth died Tuesday May 9 2017 at the Sippican Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Almeida, Jr., whom she shared 62 years of marriage, and the beloved mother of David Joseph Almeida and Jane Heroux and her husband Richard.
Charlotte was born in New Bedford to the late Mary (Frates) Crowell and Charles Crowell. Charles died soon after Charlotte was born and she was raised by her mother and second husband the late James Crowell along with her brothers and sister, the late James Crowell, the late Hazel Crook, and Charles Crowell.
Charlotte was retired from the Merchants Bank and loved tending to her home. She took pride in everything she did always making home a wonderful place to be. Charlotte loved the holidays and made them treasured memories for her family. She especially made Christmas a wonderful, special time. Charlotte and Joe loved to entertain friends and family holding parties at home that where memorable to all that attended. They loved camping and would spend vacations traveling around New England.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Sippican Healthcare Center for the special care they provided to her during her brief stay.
Although she has joined her loving husband Joe in paradise, she will be sorely missed by the family and friends who loved her very much.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery.
