Filomena “Fil” Todesco, age 89, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Mansfield, MA on February 6, 1928, she was a loving daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Narciso) Todesco.
Fil grew up in Mansfield and was a 1946 graduate of Mansfield High School. Prior to retiring in 1987, she had worked as a division secretary for forty years at AT&T in Boston.
A lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Fil was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She loved traveling, and when younger was an avid skier, a member of the Attleboro Area Ski Club and also enjoyed dancing at Lake Pearl in Wrentham
She was also affectionately known by her family as “Filo”, who were truly the focal point of her life. She loved watching her nieces and nephews grow up and later when they started their own families, whom she dearly adored
She was the dear sister of John Todesco and his wife Mary Joan of Mansfield and the late Joseph Todesco. She is also survived by several generations of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, Filomena’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the MMAS, 377 North Main St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
