Kathy Whaley, 61, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. A graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. Whaley at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dean McKinney will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 14, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Paul Stephens, Daniel Hutto, Mason Whaley, Joey Paulk, Patrick Thomas, James Whaley and Jimmy Lee Hutto, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.
Born February 23, 1956 in Tampa, Florida, Ms. Whaley was the daughter of the late Edward McConnell Whaley, Sr. and Mandy Blair Whaley. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy David Whaley; one sister, Mandy Lucille Balderas; and two nephews, Michael Ray Stephens and John Henry Stephens.
Ms. Whaley is survived by two brothers, Edward McConnell “Buddy” Whaley, Jr. of Tifton and Jessie Lee Whaley of Bogalusa, Louisiana; three sisters, Minnie Blair Stephens of Coleman, Florida, Virginia Pineda of Albany and Irene Arellano of Tifton; six nieces, Rachael Elizabeth Ruiz, Samantha Lynn Whaley, Reyna Danielle Balderas, Lisa Stephens, Cindy Hale and Mandy Whaley; and five nephews, Mason Lee Whaley, Paul Stephens, James Whaley, Jason Whaley and Jacinto Escobar.
