Paul M. Sheehan, 79, of Groveland, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born September 18, 1937 in Cambridge, MA the son of the late Michael and Dorothy (MacNabb) Sheehan. He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Scully). Paul was a graduate of Rindge Tech High School in Cambridge where he spent his early years. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the Auxiliary Police Department in Hull, MA. Paul was employed with Polaroid in Waltham as a Lab Specialist for several years before retirement. He and his late wife Barbara owned and operated The Triangle Restaurant in Groveland, The Continental Restaurant in Amesbury and The Groveland Diner in downtown Groveland. For over twenty years Paul greeted customers and served locals in The Groveland Diner while working alongside his wife and children. He will be missed by his loving family, dear friends and all his regular customers who came to know and love him at The Groveland Diner.
Paul is survived by two daughters; Maureen Maidment of Groveland and Helen Sheehan of Bradford, one son; Christopher Sheehan of Miami, FL and one daughter-in -law; Raelene (Sheehan) Corcoran of Haverhill. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Corey Sheehan, Patrick Sheehan, Eammon Sheehan, Cavanough Sheehan, Christopher Maidment, Zachary Maidment and Hannah Emery, four sisters; Patricia Sheehan, Dorothy Harvey, Carol Allison and husband Fred, and Mary Efraimson, several nieces, nephews and countless friends. In addition to his wife, Paul was predeceased by his son Paul G. Sheehan, and his brothers; Robert and Edward Sheehan.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 12, from 4-7pm at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home 129 Kenoza Avenue Haverhill, MA 01830. A graveside service will take place Saturday 11am at Riverview Cemetery in Groveland, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations in Paul’s memory be made to The Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St. Building 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
