Adelaide A. (MacPhee) Richards, 92, of Franklin, died May 8 in her home. She was the wife of the late Raymond Richards who died in 2012.
Born in Newton. October 13,1924, the daughter of the late Joseph and Adelaide(Fogarty) MacPhee, Mrs. Richards was raised in Newton and had lived in Franklin for the past 55 years.
Mrs. Richards had operated, along with her late husband, the Rosewood Restaurant in Bellingham for over 20 years before retiring.
Adelaide had been very active at St. Brendan’s Church. She had been a member of the choir, the women’s club and an extraordinary minister.
She had also volunteered at Milford Regional Medical Center for over 20 years.
Adelaide loved to bowl and to sing.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Richards, Jr. and his wife Diane of Bellingham, Robert Richards and his wife Judy of Lakeville, Mark Richards and his wife Gina of Cumberland, RI, Gene Richards and his wife Diana of Franklin and Cynthia Richards of Barrington, N.H.
She is also survived by her sister Joanne Mullen of Newton and was the sister of the late Edward, Joseph and John MacPhee and Theresa McDermott and June Martus.
Adelaide is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 12 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:00 followed by a funeral mass in St. Brendan’s Church at 10:00
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
