Jon K Jacob, 62, of Abington, MA passed away on May 5 surrounded by loved ones, following a period of declining health. A lifelong Abington resident, he was the youngest son of Edith Merilyn (Shapleigh) Jacob and the late Clifton A. Jacob, Sr.
A graduate of South Shore Vocational High School, he worked for many years at Abington, Inc. , and served on many boards and committees for the Town of Abington.
He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Whitenack) Jacob for 37 years and the devoted father of Timothy and Jessica Jacob, both of Abington. He leaves behind three brothers, Larry Jacob of Missouri, Don Jacob of Carver and Clifton Jacob Jr of Abington, as well as two sisters, Lyn Curtin of Halifax and Carole Best of Vermont. He also leaves behind dozens of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) in Whitman on Friday, May 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. , followed by a service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.
