Manuel Travassos, age 89, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2017. He was the son of the late Manuel and Fortunata (Perry) Travassos, and the former husband of Barbara (Murphy) Travassos. He was a foreman for the former Quaker Fabrics and Joan Fabrics, and a bartender at various bars and clubs. Manuel was a horse and dog racing enthusiast and a lifelong New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his children; Ronald Travassos (fiancé Susan DeSa), Michael Travassos (wife Ann), and Lynn Silvia (husband David), granddaughter; Julia Travassos, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alfred, Horace, James, Mary, Alice, and Olivia.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Wednesday with extended calling hours from 9- 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
