Ann Grantham Griffin, 85, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Ocilla Baptist Church, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Robert Couey and the Rev. Rob Dowdle officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Griffin was born January 24, 1932, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Vinson & Ridley Barfield Grantham. She lived in the community most of her life and graduated from Ocilla High School in 1949. She later attended South Georgia College. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, playing bridge with her friends and taking trips to Fernandina Beach. She was a dedicated member of the Ocilla Baptist Church, where she was very active in the Martha Sunday School Class and the Bereavement Committee.
She is survived by her children: Grant Griffin & wife Regina of Ocilla; Donna Griffin of Vail, Colorado, and Eric Griffin & wife Kelly of Atlanta; grandchildren: Mason Griffin & wife Ashley of Ocilla, Austin Griffin of Ocilla and Nate Griffin of Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wycliffe Russell Griffin and two cousins who were like brothers: Wallace Barfield and Bobby Barfield.
