Carlton R. Toussaint, 76 of New Bedford died unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Rita A. (Talbot) Toussaint.
Born in Freetown, the son of the late Wilfred and Minnie L. (Horton) Toussaint, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph - St. Therese Church.
Mr. Toussaint was formerly employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing and Acushnet Company until retirement.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Marc Toussaint of Pleasantville, NJ; 2 brothers, Donald Toussaint of Charleston, SC and Ronald Toussaint of Fairhaven; a half-sister, Arlene DeTerra of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Christina Starich and Sherry Toussaint; 3 great-grandchildren, Lillian Starich, Nolan Starich and Mila Ferrino; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the half-brother of the late Edward Seddon.
His Funeral will be held on Thursday, May 4th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 3rd from 4-8 PM.
