David B. Drew, 81, of Fairhaven passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the longtime companion of Margaret Galley and the husband of the late Madeleine (Pellerin) Drew.
Born in Fairhaven, son of the late Norris and Claire (Benjamin) Drew, he lived in Fairhaven all of his life. He was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, class of 1955
David was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
He was employed by Titleist for 42 1/2 years until his retirement in 1998.
David enjoyed golfing, gardening, building bird houses and traveling with Maggie.
He is survived by three daughters, Karen Swift and her husband Dr. Jeffrey Swift of Mattapoisett, Susan Green and her husband Jason of Bristol, RI, and Linda Mello and her husband Matthew of South Dartmouth; a brother-in-law, whom he raised as his own, David Pellerin and his wife Susan of South Dartmouth; two brothers, Norris and his wife Beverly of Fairhaven, and Stephen and his wife Phyllis of Mattapoisett; a sister, Natalie Maloof and her husband Jim of Beverly Hills, FL; six loving grandchildren, Caitlin, Jarod, Madeleine, Benjamin, Claudia, and Nathaniel; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Joanne Mello.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven at 10 AM. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 PM.
