Renato Aldo Vencenzo Santopietro, 85, of Johnston, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Hope Hospice in Providence. He was the husband of Immacolata "Margaret" (Pisaturo) Santopietro. They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before she passed in 2005.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Rocco and Matilda (Insardi) Santopietro. He had lived in Johnston for 60 years.
He was a self-employed upholster and most recently worked for Twin Rivers for 25 years before retiring in December 2016.
He is survived by his children: Rocco “Rocky” Santopietro and his wife, MaryAnn of Johnston and Maria Cardarelli and her husband, Daniel of North Scituate, his five grandchildren: Rayna Marie Spada, Rocco Renato Santopietro, Rachel Marie Cardarelli and Joseph Renato Cardarelli and Justin Miranda and his great grandson: Ennio Spada. He was the brother of Yolanda Schiavulli of Foster and Alda Criscione of Cranston.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Tuesday morning 8:30-1030am
