William West
Augusta, GA – Mr. William Ellis West, 85, devoted husband of 61 years to the late Judith Laine West, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017.
Bill was a native of Cobbtown, GA and has lived in Hephzibah for 41 years. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was an electrician by trade and a member of IBEW Local Union #1579 until he retired. Bill was a faithful member of Providence Baptist Church. He enjoyed cars and working with his hands. Bill loved helping others and spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Family members include his son: William David West (Gina); grandchildren: Amanda, Chad (Amy), Delayna, Kaitlyn, and Reed West; and sister: Joan West (Wendell). In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his son: Randy Ellis West; parents: Elzie and Alma West; and brother: Elzie West.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Don Prosser officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
