Helmut Rolle age 97 of Brockton, died Tuesday April 25, 2017 at Southeast Rehabilitation in N. Easton. He was the loving husband of the late Hildegard (Dannenberg) Rolle for 61 years. Was born and raised in Dresden, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1982. He has lived in Brockton since 1989.
During WWII Helmut served in the German Army, was captured by Russian troops and was a POW for two years.
When living in Germany, Helmut was a machinist in a Volkswagen transmission plant. He will be remembered as an easy going and gregarious man who was always up for a good time. He loved nature walks, astronomy and listening to big band music.
Helmut is survived by his two daughters Margit LaMarch and her husband Robert of Texas and Sylvia Rolle of Brockton; two grandsons David LaMarch of Salisbury and Robert LaMarch and his wife Susan of Little Elm, TX and two great grandchildren Robert and Rebekah LaMarch.
