David J. Welch, Jr.

TEWKSBURY: David J. Welch, Jr., age 68, a resident of Tewksbury for 39 years, formerly of Wilmington, passed away at home on Friday, April 21, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of thirty seven years to Patricia F. “Patty” Nawn.
Born in Woburn on September 25, 1948, he was the son of the late David J. Welch and the late Mildred (Larson) Welch.
Dave was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington High School.
Following his high school years, Dave began his 50+ year career in the concrete foundation industry.
Most recently, Dave operated Westwood Foundations Company in Tewksbury.
In his spare time, Dave enjoyed playing golf and boating.
Dave will lovingly be remembered for his outgoing personality, and his contagious sense of humor.
In addition to his wife Patty, he is survived by two children, Donna Letellier and her husband Ray of Buxton, ME, and David J. Welch, III of Billerica; three step-children, Kerry Roper of Boston, Kathryn Roper of Westford, and Richard “Rick” Roper, Jr. of Milford, NH; two sisters, Sheila M. Anderson and her husband Morris of Wilmington, and Kathy Slater of Lowell; his grandchildren, Kendrick G. Clouten, Cameron Welch, David J. Welch, IV, John T. and Theodore J. Nordhougen, and Alan J. Teague; also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Dave was the brother of the late Richard W. Welch, who was killed in action while serving in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Calling hours are Wednesday, April 26, from 3-6 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by a prayer service to be held at the funeral home.
