Obituary

Our beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, Terence Sean Carr, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2017. Born and raised in New Bedford, Terry attended Holy Family Grammar School and graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School. Terry grew up in the west end of New Bedford with many lifelong friends. Those bonds of friendship are still strong to this day.
Terry proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and then returned home to work as a New Bedford commercial fisherman. In his 30-year career as a commercial fisherman, Terry earned a reputation as a seasoned, hard-working, dedicated and dependable hand that knew his job extremely well.
Terry was a devoted and loving father to his daughter Abigail. She was the apple of his eye and Terry was happiest when he was with her. His life truly changed the day Abby was born.
Terry was the son of his loving parents, Muriel N. Carr (Romine) and the late James J. Carr Jr. Terry was the brother of the late James J. Carr III and survived by his sisters Diane H. Angelini (Carr) and husband Vinny, Frances and her husband Paul, Cathleen A. Sharpe (Carr) and husband Derrick, and brother Patrick J. Carr and wife Suzanne. He was the loving uncle of his many nieces and nephews.
Terry was a quiet man with a witty sense of humor. He will always be remembered as a kind and generous man with an even-keeled temperament. Terry will be deeply missed by all.
