Olethia G. Luke, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Gramps & Grannies Personal Care Home in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the Ocilla Church of God in Ocilla, with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
Ms. Luke was born March 29, 1932, in Ambrose, Georgia, to the late Fate & Daisy Mae Troupe Griffin. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life and moved to Warner Robins in 2008. She was a light to all her housemates. Ms. Luke loved to share her faith and felt her ministry was telling others of her salvation. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed caring for her family. She was a longtime faithful member of the Ocilla Church of God, attending since the 1970s.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Storey & her husband Ron of St. Mary’s, Georgia and a son, Joey Luke & his wife Susan of Ocilla; grandchildren: Eric Storey, Justin Storey & his wife Summer and Brittany Luke; great-grandchildren: Cameron, age 5 and Jameson, age 3; a brother, Olin Griffin & his wife Carol of Jacksonville, Florida; a sister, Lottie Mae Royal of Wray and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Peacock Griffin of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Oswald Luke; brothers and their spouses: Rev. Thurman & Elsie Harper Griffin, John E. “Dutch” & Juanita Tarrant Griffin, and James F. Griffin.
