Funeral services for Ed “Bubba” Howell, 66, of Ashburn will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 4:00 PM in the Ashburn First Baptist Church in Ashburn. Mr. Howell passed away Friday at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The son of the late Edward Houston Howell, Sr. and Ruby Nell Jones Howell he was born in Turner County and was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church. He recently retired from ESG Industries with the City of Tifton.
Mr. Howell was a farmer for 30 years and he loved fishing and hunting. He was a loving Papa and loved his fur babies. Above all else, he loved his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Howell of Ashburn; his children, Scott (Carla) Howell of Springfield, Gil (Sherae) Howell of Richmond Hill, Heather Leigh (D.J.) Goodwin of Brunswick Laura Sumner (Heath) Cooper of Sylvester and Stuart Wyatt Sumner of Sylvester. He also is survived by his sisters Wanda (Michael) Bell of Ashburn and Donna (Ronnie) Waters of Rebecca. He was a very special Papa to 15 grandchildren and a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 until the hour of services at the Ashburn First Baptist Church.
