Barbara J. (Conrad) Reeves, 87, of Abington formerly of Milton, passed away on Wednesday April 19th, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of John M. Reeves.
Barbara was born in Boston on August 9, 1929, daughter of the late Fred A. and Emily (Bachman) Conrad.
She worked for and retired from the Foxboro Co., in East Bridgewater, then for BLH Electronics in Canton. She was a graduate of the Brockton Business School and had an associate degree from Massasoit Community College both of Brockton.
Barbara held many positions as a member of the South Shore Chapter of APICS from Membership to President over the years. She was a member of the All Saints Church in Whitman, on the Vestry and served as treasurer for many years, president of the ECW, also member of the Art Association of Abington, scorekeeper for the Women’s Golf League at the Foxboro Co. After her retirement Barbara became a line dance instructor and taught for the COA in Abington, Weymouth and Rockland. She enjoyed painting and became involved in arts/craft and participated in many shows in the local area, also sewing, golf, tennis, line dancing, traveling and church activities. Barbara enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was very involved in obtaining a senior center for the town of Abington.
In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her daughter Elaine (Westling) Jansky of Milton, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Sheila LaFluer and sister of the late Robert and Fredrick Conrad.
Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 25th at 10:00AM in the All Saints Church, Park Ave., Whitman, burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery, Milton, MA. Visitation will be on Monday April 24th from 5:00-8:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rt 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman.
