Obituary

Eric R. Brindle, 49, slipped quietly away in his sleep and into the Lord’s hands on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Peace at last, peace at last.
Eric was born in Haverhill on December 27, 1967, the only son of Roberta L. (Newton) and the late Richard D. Brindle. Eric was born with an amazing ability to build, draw or repair just about anything. His proudest achievement was the addition to his sister Betsy’s home that will stand as a beautiful legacy to his talents. Eric loved going out to the movies, the beach and beach pizza with his daughter, 2000 and 5000 piece puzzles and 3D puzzles, fishing, acting as first mate on his father’s whale watching boat, “The Indian” out of Kennebunkport, ME and Super-bowl Champs, The Patriots.
Eric was a loyal and true friend and most all who met him loved him. Eric was also a man with the disease of addiction and he fought this everyday of his life. We are so grateful to God that Eric was with us for so long. In the end, decades of damage done by his addictions took him. For his family, this was the great purpose of his life. He could speak and write so eloquently about his disease that it inspired many to get and stay clean. Many are forever grateful to him for this. He would want them to continue the fight and not give in because of his loss.
He is survived by his mother Roberta (Newton) Brindle of Bradford, his greatest joy, daughter Jacqueline Brindle, his sisters; Judi Brindle and Betsy Perrault and husband Emory, his niece Melissa A. Perrault and nephew Daniel M. Perrault and wife Melissa. It would be impossible to list all of the people whom Eric loved and all those who loved him and called him friend. Eric’s family would like to thank all those who have called, visited and commented on Eric’s Facebook page. Your thoughts and prayers have helped ease our pain. Eric would want people to know that addiction is a disease and people who have this disease deserve tolerance, love and appropriate long term treatment. If you love someone with the disease of addiction support them and encourage them to get help.
Calling hours will be Thursday, April 27, from 6-8pm at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 52 Salem St. Bradford, MA 01835. A prayer service will conclude the evening. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric’s memory may be made to Learn2Cope 4 Court Street Taunton, MA 02780 or by visiting their website [email protected].
