ELLIS - Brian Charles Ellis, 68, of Yulee, FL passed away April 15, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Fernandina Beach.
Mr. Ellis was born January 22, 1949 in Newark, England and moved to Yulee 22 years ago from Southwell, England.
He traveled to many places in the course of his business as a quantity surveyor and engineer, building airports in Saudi Arabia, the Bur al Araib in Dubai, and other commercial buildings in Kuwait, as well as handling contract mediations in Africa and Holland.
He loved the sea and sailing. Mr. Ellis began sailing at the age of 12 on Lake Windermere in England. He sailed on many bodies of water since that time, as well as crossing the ocean three times with his wife and son.
He spearheaded the effort to restore The Ribault Club on Fort George Island and was a member of the Masonic Order.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Masie Ellis.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Lelani Lei Fryfogle of Yulee; a son, Christopher Charles Ellis of Salt Lake City, UT; a sister, Isabelle still living in the UK ; and his beloved Fernandina Beach family, Jack and Lynne Ruppel, Kelley McCrimmon, Jack Scott and Pam Ruppel, Richard and Dawn Ruppel, David Ruppel, and his nieces, Jessica McCrimmon, Savannah Ruppel, and Rececca Ruppel.
There will be a memorial gathering to celebrate his life on Saturday, April 29th between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at his residence, 88118 Maybourne Dr., Yulee, FL 32097. In lieu of flowers please bring a favorite memory to share.
