Mary J. Gosselin (nee Luiz) passed peacefully at home in Chicopee during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 9th with family at her side. Mary lived most of her life in Chicopee, having spent her retirement years in Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Maria (nee Calistro) Luiz originally from Alcobaça, Portugal; sister, Alice Sampson, husband Gaston R. Gosselin Sr.; and daughter Jeanne Marie. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Americo (Nicky) Luis and Filomena (Minnie) Domingos; 11 children, Linda M. Hoffman (Hawaii), Elizabeth A. Nicholls (Chicopee), Roger L. (Cape Cod), MaryLou LaRiviere (Brimfield), Raymond P. (California), Gerald T. (Bridgewater), Paul A. (Pennsylvania), Gaston R. Jr. (Florida), Robert R. (Connecticut) and Michelle J. Cole (California); 14 grandchildren, James Nicholls, Justin Nicholls, Jessica Nicholls, Nathan, Monique Cowing, Garrett, Adison, Brianna, Sarah, Paul, Gaston Peter, Max, Robert R. II and Louis Gosselin; and two great grandchildren, Ava Mae Nicholls and Nina Marie Cowing; as well as nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date when all family are able to attend to celebrate her life.
