Joanne (Hickey) Walsh, 84, of Berlin, passed away on Friday April 14, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 18, 1933 to the late Mark J. Hickey and Cecile (Routhier) Hickey. She worked at the telephone company out of high school. She enjoyed singing and performed at the logging camps, and with the St. Anne Church Choir where she met her husband, William Walsh. The couple married and moved to Putnam, CT where they raised their thirteen children. Joanne enjoyed spending time with her family and watching them grow. She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Putnam, CT and St. Anne Church in Berlin, NH.
Family includes her nine sons, Kevin Walsh and wife Sharon of N. Grosvenordale, CT, Gregory Walsh and wife Denise of Danielson, CT, Christopher Walsh and partner Maritsa of Danielson, CT, Bernard Walsh and wife Penny of Montague, MA, Matthew Walsh of Moosup, CT, Martin Walsh and wife Linda of Putnam, CT, David Walsh of Worcester, MA, Thomas Walsh and wife Angie of Evans Mills, NY and Benjamin Walsh and partner Rachel of Sharon, MA; four daughters Maura Mills and husband Patrick of Moore, SC, Monica Bouchey and husband Joseph of Chester, VA, Jenny Sullivan and husband Kevin of Duncan, SC and Brigid Saucier and husband Raymond of Berlin, NH; one sister Martha Campbell of Oakdale, CA; 29 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband William Walsh and three brothers, Mark, Paul and Herbert Hickey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
