Walter Nicolas Londergan, Jr, 81, of North Truro passed away Wednesday April 12th at Seashore Point Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Provincetown. He was the husband of Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Londergan.
Born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, he was the son of the late Walter and Adele Londergan. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School where he excelled at athletics. In 1954, he was inducted into the Shrewsbury High School Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame for ‘outstanding accomplishments in high school athletics’.
Following high school, he graduated from the University of Bridgeport majoring in Political Science. He then enlisted in the US Marine Corp. After his Marine Corp service, he owned and operated the New England Sound and Communications Company in Northborough. He then owned Lonergan’s Restaurant in Milford and Uncle Ben’s Deli in Eastham. He was an avid sports fan in his free time.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, he leaves sons Sean Patrick Londergan of Rutland, VT and Seth Patrick Londergan of Boston. A brother, Richard Londergan of Shrewsbury, as well as several nieces, nephews and a myriad of friends also survive him.
A memorial service is being planned for a time and date to be announced.
