Elizabeth M. “Betty” (Bradley) Sousa, age 78, of Norton passed away peacefully, in the presence of her loving family, on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Taunton Nursing Home in Taunton.
Born in Quincy, MA on September 1, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Maude (Bartlett) Bradley.
Betty grew up and was educated in Quincy and Somerville. She had made her home in Norton for the past forty years.
Prior to retiring, she had worked in housekeeping at the Extended Stay America in Norton. She was previously employed at the Holiday Inn in Taunton and at the former Ann’s Place Restaurant in Norton.
Betty cherished the times spent amongst her family, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed Friday night bingo at St. Mary’s Church in Norton as well as playing cards.
She is survived by her devoted children Michael E. Sousa and his wife Glenda of Blackstone, Laureen E. Fischer and her husband Bernd of Norton, Carolyn M. Sousa and her partner David Porell of Lakeville and Darryl J. Sousa of Norton. She was the dear sister of Robert Bradley, Dorothy McKenzie, Joseph Bradley and Donna Wingate all of Medford, Daniel Bradley of Woburn, and the late Bernard Bradley and Charles Bradley. She was the adoring grandmother of Derek, Jeffrey, Kelsey and Elizabeth, the great grandmother of Ethan, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her longtime best friend Marion May.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 1:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Tuesday morning beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
