Clarence W. "Bill" Hill, age 95, of Norton, formerly of Weston and East Dennis passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary L. (Nicoll) Hill, to whom he was wed for fifty-eight years at the time of her death on December 24, 2009.
Born in Boston, MA on March 29, 1922, he was a loving son of the late Clarence W. and Sarah (Lovett) Hill.
Bill grew up in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He furthered his education, receiving his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University.
Mr. Hill had worked for many years as the treasurer of the Jenney Oil Company in Chestnut Hill, prior to retiring in 1987. He was previously employed as a certified public accountant at Copper & Lybrand in Boston.
Bill's family was truly the focal point of his life. When younger, he enjoyed summers spent with his wife and children at Merrymeeting Lake in New Hampshire and in later year’s treasured spending time with his adoring grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted children Leslie E. Hill of Norton, Nancy J. Rooney and her husband J. Kevin of Delmar, New York and Robert D. Hill, Sr. and his wife Diana of Lafayette, Indiana. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Robert D. Hill, Jr., David N. Hill, Douglas J. Rooney, Elena M. Rooney and Matthew W. Hill, as well as his great granddaughter Charlotte M. Hill.
Funeral services, along with burial at Linwood Cemetery in Weston, will be private and visiting hours have been omitted.
