Hurley, Irene (Backauskas) of North Falmouth formerly of West Roxbury April 10, 2017. Irene was a lifelong nurse who was trained and worked at Boston City Hospital throughout her career. Loving wife of the late Eugene J. Hurley Sr. Mother of Eugene J. Hurley Jr. and his wife Joan (Farren) Hurley of Norwood and mother-in-law of Eugene's late wife Jean C. (Brown) Hurley, Elizabeth Hurley Gardner and late Simon Gardner of Falmouth and Maureen and Robert Fleming of Dedham. Adored Grandmother of Gene J. and Melora Hurley of Bellingham, Suzie Hurley Friday and Bob Friday of Dedham and Michael and Lynne Hurley of Auburn. Survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Monday April 17th, from 10:30 am to 12 o’clock noon followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
