Reba Rathbun Reeves, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at her granddaughter’s residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 13, 2017, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Allen Arowood and the Rev. Michael Paulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Reeves was born September 2, 1927, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late John Kramer & Laura Howell Rathbun. She lived in the community all of her life and was a former employee of Fitzgerald Underwear as a quality inspector. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and loved to work in her yards. Mrs. Reeves was a member of the Fitzgerald Assembly of God and an avid singer.
She is survived by her daughter: Kathy Reeves Arowood of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Allen Arowood of Ocilla and Candice McDaniel of Fitzgerald; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton Junior Reeves; a son, Calvin E. Reeves; five sisters; two brothers and two half-brothers.
