David C. Adams, Jr., 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside services at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Adams was born January 28, 1946, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Louise Raby Adams Bennett of Fitzgerald and the late David C. Adams, Sr. A former resident of Texas, he had lived in the community since 1989. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Adams worked with several paint & body shops while he lived in Texas and Colorado. He owned and operated body shops in Ashburn and Fitzgerald and worked with local shops. He enjoyed NASCAR, fast cars and engines. Mr. Adams was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons: Joey Gerre of Florida and Ladon Stables of Alabama; one grandson; one granddaughter; a special cousin that was like a sister, Nellie Lott and a devoted friend, Wayne Young. Mr. Adams also leaves behind a devoted dog, Roscoe.
