Lawrence M. “Smokey” Slavick, age 64, a lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Morton Hospital in Taunton.
Born in Taunton, MA on December 2, 1952, he was a dear son of the late Lawrence F. and Jeannette R. (Foulds) Slavick.
Larry grew up and was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of Taunton High School.
Larry had worked in the janitorial department at Taunton State Hospital and was previously employed at Reny’s Curtain Factory in Taunton and bagging golf balls at T & S Golf on Weir Street in Taunton.
Smokey’s greatest love in life was music. He was a lead guitar player for the Shallow Creek Band, which performed throughout the country and served as a backup band for many famous performers. His favorite type of music was country and rock and roll and the group he idolized the most was the Beatles.
He is survived by his beloved longtime companion Patricia A. “Patty” Fleck of Taunton. He is also survived by Patty’s daughters Crystal McCrohan and her husband Todd and their children Jocelyn and James, and Kendra Fleck and her boyfriend Keith Evan and their children Tony and Narya.
Services and burial are private and visiting hours have been omitted.
