Richard A. Burke, 73, died Saturday, April 1, 2017. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Franklin A. Burke and Marion E. (Jacobs) Burke. Mr. Burke was raised in Barrington. He attended the Providence Country Day School, Lawrence University and the University of Vermont. He lived in Vermont for a dozen years, during which time he was very active in the Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce) while working as a school teacher, school librarian and public librarian.
Returning to Rhode Island in 1980, he worked in clerical/administrative positions at Neptune-Benson, Quebecor Printing Providence and the Harmony Hill School. Dick retired in 2010. He was predeceased by his sister Mary M. Burke, by his twin Robert W. Burke, and by his older brother, William S. Burke.
