Woonsocket
Linda G. (Dufresne) Slobogan 69, of Hanora-Lippitt Manor, passed away Tuesday, April 4, in the Philip Hulitar Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Normand J. Slobogan. Linda was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Louis Philippe and Elsie-Mae (Baldwin) Dufresne. She was a winder in the former Hanora Spinning Mills, a CNA for Woonsocket Health Center, and a support staff member for Advocates Inc. for many years prior to her retirement in 1996. She enjoyed volunteering for Because He Lives Ministries, and was an avid Bingo player.
Linda is survived by three sons: Joseph Slobogan of Woonsocket, Jason Slobogan and his wife Brenda of Woonsocket, and Jessy Slobogan and his wife Tanya of Bellingham, three daughters: Celeste Slobogan of Woonsocket, Cynthia Slobogan of Fall River, and Candace Slobogan of Woonsocket, seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph and Richard Dufresne both of Woonsocket; four sisters: Julia Lemire of Woonsocket, Kathleen Mailhot of Woonsocket, Carol-Lee Aspiras of Virginia Beach, VA, and Antoinette Dufresne of Woonsocket. She was also the grandmother of the late Desi Slobogan, and sister of the late Phyllis Cote, and Dennis and Phillippe Dufresne.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening 5-8 pm, in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 pm.
