Guilhermina (Rego) Aguiar, 76, of Westport, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday April 9, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Jose M. Aguiar, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage.
Mrs. Aguiar was born in St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late John and Maria (Tavares) Rego and had resided in Westport since 1975. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Joseph Aguiar of Westport and John Aguiar of Fall River; her daughter: Rosemarie Leroux of W. Wareham; 3 brothers: Jose-Louis Rego, Gil Rego and Manuel Rego, all of Canada; 5 sisters: Ilda Tavares of Fall River, Laura DaSilva of Fall River, Belmira Canairo, Teresa Tavares and Victoria Costa, all of Canada; 5 grandchildren: Sarah, Brittany, Caleb, Abigail and Benjamin; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Maria do Carmo Rego and Benvinda Aguiar.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from the Potter Funeral Home at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 11:30 A.M.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
