Mildred A (Schwenk) Heckman (3/26/1926 – 4/6/2017), devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, is now resting peacefully with her Heavenly Father. Mildred was born in Ireland, Indiana. As a young school girl moved to Louisville, KY and married her soulmate on October 23, 1950. The special couple enjoyed a very blessed and rewarding life together, raising a family of 8 children within the community of the St. Lawrence Catholic Parish.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William B. Heckman; and daughter, Dr. Carol Heckman.
Survivors include sons, Mark Heckman (Paula) and William Heckman (Sharon Ann); and daughters, Vicky Mingus (Donnie), Donna Heckman, Sharon Madon (James), Marcia Heckman, and Kathy Heckman; and 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
The love and support she has provided her family and friends, is cherished by all.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, 4/9/17, at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Funeral Mass will be 10a.m., Monday, 4/10/17, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive; and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
