Robert Fortini Tabaroni,100, of Hingham MA, died April 6, 2017. He was the husband of Loretta Jones-Tabaroni and the late Felicia Tabaroni . Bob was born in Hillsborough, N. H. a son of the late Danio and Elenora Tabaroni and grew up in Whitman MA.
Bob was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army in the Military Police in both European and Pacific Theaters. After the war he served in the Army Reserves attaining the rank of Major. Bob retired from the Massachusetts State Police after 23 years of service as a Lieutenant.
Bob earned an Associate's Degree from Bentley College and was later employed as a Book Keeping Operations Officer at Plymouth Home National Bank, Brockton, MA. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus at Cardinal Spellman Council # 347. In his free time, Bob loved to travel.
Bob is survived by a son Robert and his wife Judith of Fairfax Station, VA and a granddaughter, Jill Enwright and her husband Rick of Norwood MA. He was the great grandfather of Payton and Carter Enwright and brother of the late Virginia Campbell, Gloria Grillo-Walsh, and Bertha Harris. He also leaves Loretta’s children Lynn Darmetko of Hanover; Robert Jones of Woodbridge, VA and Brian Jones of King George, VA, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday 4-7pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8am for a funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 9am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
