Jack Lee Coppess, 80, of Anderson died April 6, 2017 at St. Vincent's Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born December 4, 1936 in Anderson, the son of Lloyd and Genevieve (Armie) Coppess.
He was a police officer for Anderson Police Department . He retired from production after 22 years of service at General Motors.
He attended Mt. Olive Community Church in Muncie.
He loved model trains and especially wintering in Sebring, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Esthermay Sonya (Sarah) Coppess of Anderson whom he married in Anderson February 23, 1957; three children, Jack (Randy) Coppess of Anderson; Kerrie (Bill) Griffis and Shelly (Mike) Roberts all of Pendleton; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vera Reeder and two brothers, Buck and Charlie Coppess.
Service will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Rodney Eiler officiating. Please use the West entrance to the funeral home. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
