James Kirk of Lawrence, Massachusetts passed away on April 5, 2017, at the age of 68.
At his request, no service will be held. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, Marguerite and Bryant Bedsaul, of Medford, Massachusetts; brother-in-law Ernie Cormier of Lexington, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Beverly Freeman of Jonesboro, Georgia; and grand niece Angela Ricci of Jonesboro, Georgia.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Irene Kirk; Phyllis Kirk, the mother of his children, daughter, Amanda (Josh) Magie (granddaughter Kate); son, Jason Kirk; sister, Linda Cormier; brother-in-law Landon Freeman; nieces and nephews Carole (Paul) Mahoney; Sandra (Phil) Marshall, Linda (Ernie) Etheridge; Diane (Doug) Redd; Mark (Michelle) Freeman; great nieces and nephews Brendan, Caitlin, Connor, Allison, Matthew, Amber Freeman; and great grand nephew, Will.
Jim was a kind, compassionate, and gentle man. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He was always willing to offer help in any way he could. He was a mentor to many, and he was selfless in many ways. He will be greatly missed.
Jim was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on July 2, 1948. He served as a welder in the Army and was stationed in Colorado for two years. After the military, Jim was a machinist. He became a general contractor in 1980. His interests included target shooting, unwinding with his favorite TV shows and movies, and – most especially – he loved his family.
