Obituary

In Taunton, April 6, 2017 Anthony “Tony” Riggillo, Age 89, passed away at Marion Manor Nursing Home following a period of declining health. Tony was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Polito) Riggillo. He was born in East Boston, the son of the late Joseph & Alice (Melanson) Riggillo. He was a resident of Raynham for most of his life. A proud veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy, he later became a union carpenter, local #218. Tony was a member of the Lions Club and was a Little League coach for many years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, fixing things and was an amateur artist and the time spent with his family. In addition to his wife Mary, Tony leaves his children, Robert Riggillo of Cape Cod, Sandra Alger and her husband Richard of Sandwich, Donna Maclay of Lakeville and Gail Lyford Freeman and her husband Jeff of Fairhaven. He also leaves his brother John Riggillo of ME and his eight grandchildren, including his special granddaughter Courtney Lyford of Taunton and fiancé Dave Foley and nine great grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, April 11th at 11 am. in the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. Relatives and friends may also attend visiting hours prior to the service from 10-11am. Burial with military honors will follow in Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham. Donations in Anthony’s memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 174 Dean St., Taunton, MA 02780
