Paul A. Gilchrist passed away in his Raynham home, on April 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Taunton, the son of the late Leo and Clare (Driscoll) Gilchrist. He was a graduate of Coyle High School and UMass Dartmouth. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a radarman, and was employed as an operations manager for several local businesses throughout his career. An ardent Patriots fan, he happily worked at the Hall at Patriot Place in retirement.
Paul was a member of St. Ann’s Church Parish Council, the RCIA team and the Knights of Columbus. A CCD teacher for 32 years, he later served as the coordinator for four years. He was a Eucharistic minister and a Marian Medal recipient.
Paul will be profoundly missed by his wife and best friend of 44 years, Fran (Rheaume) Gilchrist of Raynham, and his two children, Keith Gilchrist and his wife Jennifer of NY, and Colleen Gilchrist Webber and her husband Len of RI. He leaves behind three beloved grandchildren, Kelsey and Kyle Gilchrist, and Zachary Paul Webber. He also leaves three sisters, Marylee Gilchrist of Blackstone, MA, Catherine Andrews of Phenix City, AL, and Jane Schondek and her husband Matthew of Raynham, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham on Tuesday, April 11th at 10 am. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s name to the National Brain Tumor Society at braintumor.org
