FALL RIVER… Maria D. Vieira, 80, of Fall River passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River.
She was the widow of Ernest Couto.
Born in Furnas, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jorge and Celestina (Moniz) Vieira. Maria immigrated to the United States in 1985 and was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church. She enjoyed cooking and painting.
Survivors include her sons: Robert, Eduardo & Carlos Couto, all of Fall River, her daughters: Ana, Ida and Tina Couto, all of St. Michael Azores, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 23 nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jorge, Manuel, Eduardo, Jose and Moses Vieira.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 8:30 AM at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Espirito Santo Church, Alden Street, Fall River. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 8: 30 AM - 9:30 AM.
